Han River Villa is situated in a riverside residential area near the Han River, in close proximity to the river square. The design aims to optimize the scenic advantages of the landscape while providing both communal and private spheres for familial activities.
The ground floor is elevated to enhance the user’s view of the river scenery. A private garden area is integrated as an extension of the living area. The ground floor accommodates shared living spaces with few partitions and ample glass elements to maximize natural light and and connect with the surrounding landscape.
The communal living spaces on the ground floor are envisioned as the areas between the concrete structural blocks, originally serving as small, utilitarian spaces with technical functions. The block housing the bedrooms and private areas is a white substractive sculpture, positioned atop the gray concrete structural blocks on the ground floor.
